Mission

The mission of MS SoftServe is to help people with Multiple Sclerosis embark on a lifetime of learning -- helping them better understand their individual experience with MS through anxiety-free access to information, resources and support.

We plan to fulfill this mission by providing:

  • A place to learn about Multiple Sclerosis where the user has complete control over what information they are exposed to and when.
  • Choose information in everyday, scientific or simple language and in a variety of formats (print, video, animation) to allow for a varied learning preference.
  • An environment where the content is designed for no purpose other than helping individuals learn about themselves and improve their personal experience with their MS.

A message from the site founder: Amy Gurowitz

If you're like me, you want to know what’s going on with your MS. You may want to learn what to expect from it, how to treat it, But if you have experiences like I have, you hesitate when sitting down at the keyboard.

That’s because when you are on the Internet there is no telling what you are going to find. Even the trusted sites don’t have any way to limit to the information they provide. Which means I might want to know about a tingling feeling I get when I bend my head down, and instead learn about all the worst case scenarios that may never happen to me, ones that may never have occurred to me.

This site is designed so that the user will have the opportunity to learn in a meaningful way; a way that can be controlled. Based on the theories of cognitive science, how we learn most effectively on a biologic level, the lessons here are customized to match the different learners, different cases, different people who have MS.
